Yoga Classes

Yoga is a meditative discipline that helps train the body and quiets the mind. With practice, students develop a greater awareness of their bodies, which assists in preventing injuries and releases tension. Yoga and breathing techniques are taught to give a heightened sense of relaxation, flexibility and freedom in the body.

Our instructor, Sue Lyn Schramm, teaches Hatha Yoga for fitness as well as relaxation. Emphasis is placed on correct alignment and safety in the poses. Classes are appropriate for students new to yoga and those with physical limitations Each class begins and ends with a short meditation. The central portion of every class will be a changing array of poses designed to increase strength, balance and flexibility.

The class is designed for beginning students and also for experienced students who wish to continue their yoga practice while respecting the stiffness or limitations that may come with maturity. We will work on safely increasing strength and flexibility while remaining connected with the inner wisdom of the body. No prior yoga experience is needed.

Classes are held on Thursdays from 9:30-11:00 am.
