Ivan Mandic… will be returning as our Head Tennis Professional. As you know, Ivan is originally from Croatia and grew up in an athletic family. Ivan started playing tennis at a very young age, being coached by his father who was one of the top professional volleyball players in Europe. Ivan was a top ranked Junior and has played NCAA Tennis for the College of Saint Rose, Albany, NY. Among his many coaching accomplishments, Ivan has coached at the Olympic Training Center in Barcelona, Spain and at the Nick Bolletieri Academy in Florida. He has coached local teams at National Cathedral School, Washington DC, and is currently coaching the men’s tennis team at Oakton High School. Meet the Pro and Demo Day

Please come and meet Ivan and try out some of the latest tennis racquets from Head/Penn Racquet Sports on Saturday May 3rd from 3:00 –5:00 p.m. In addition, learn more about our exciting programs offered for 2008 – lessons, clinics and summer camps. All tennis players are invited to attend.

Clinics and Camps

Ivan has designed a variety of clinics for juniors and adults (Men and Women) to suit every level of play. Adult Mixed Drill Clinics start on Saturday, April 5th for a period of 8 weeks. Fees for late registrations will be pro-rated for the remaining sessions. Junior clinics will be divided into sections by age and ability. Clinics also start April 5 and run for 8 weeks, with additional clinics starting in May. Once again, we will be offering half-day tennis camps from June 23-July 28. Additional camps in August will be offered based on demand. Register early to be guaranteed desired slots.

Lessons
Ivan will be available for tennis lessons. His rates:

• Private Lessons $55 per hour
• Semi-Private and group lessons (minimum 4) available upon request

Junior Team Tennis Program
The competitive Team Tennis Program is available to children ages 6-18. The cost to participate on the team is $50 for the season. The team competes against other clubs in the area, and will start practicing 2 days a week beginning June 2. On Mondays and Wednesdays the times are 4:00-5:00 p.m. for ages 12 and under and 5:00-6:00 p.m. for ages 13 and over. The Junior Tyson’s Cup Team matches begin June 24, 2008 and end on July 24, 2008. Tuesday matches will be June 24, and July 1 while the Thursday matches will be June 26, July 3, 10, 17 and 24.

Tennis Birthday Parties
Hey parents! Shouldn't you enjoy your child's Birthday Party as much as your child? Leave all the work and fuss to us! We give a unique type of birthday party. A party your child and friends will remember. A tennis party that includes an hour of exciting skills, drills and thrills on the tennis court. Our tennis party works with a group of 10 children. Parents are still responsible for providing their own decorations and refreshments. Cost: 1 to 10 children $90 ($45 deposit to reserve date) Add 1 to 3 more children @ $9 per child. However, adding 4 or more children will require paying for another group of 10. Staffing for tennis parties is based on groups of 10. Call to schedule you child's party today! Junior Team Practice

• 4:00-5:00pm Age 12 and below
• 5:00-6:00pm Age 13 and above

Adult Team Tennis

The men’s and women’s adult teams are a great way to meet players at TRC and improve your tennis game. Practices begin on April 1. Match Play will run from April 21 – June 18. The fees this year are $30.00 per player paid to the captain is required to cover the cost of the league and balls.

Ladies Team – Practices are Thursday evenings starting April 3, 6:30 -8:00. Match days are anticipated to be Mondays. Interested ladies should contact Ivan at (571) 278-7804 or by email at ivanman1998@yahoo.com or tennis@tuckahoe.net.

Men’s Team – Practices are Tuesday evenings starting April 1, 6:30 -8:00. Match days are anticipated to be Wednesdays. Anyone interest in participating in the Men’s Team should contact the captain, Seth Foley at (703)855-7306.

Assistant Pros and Court Attendants – Spread the word, TRC is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Tennis Pro and Court Attendants for the summer. It’s a great employment opportunity for high school students. Contact Ivan for more information.
